Available vial formats

Reconstitution

1. Swab vial tops with alcohol
2. Add 2.0 mL bacteriostatic water slowly
3. Swirl gently - do not shake
4. Refrigerate 2-8 C

Dosing, cycle & timing

• Conservative 250 mcg per injection once daily or every other day (5 units per injection)
• Standard 250-500 mcg per injection once daily during loading (5-10 units per injection)
• Aggressive 1.0 mg once daily during short loading (20 units per injection) only if clearly tolerated
• Cycle length 2-6 weeks loading, then maintenance as needed.
• Best timing Evening if nausea occurs.

Timing: Use with deliberate UV strategy rather than random exposure. Do not assume the peptide replaces sun protection.

Side effects / tolerability

• Nausea
• Flushing
• Darkening of freckles or moles

Notes

• Monitor existing moles and freckles and watch for any new or changing pigmented spots; pause and seek dermatologic review if changes occur.
• Clinical note: regulated afamelanotide context is formulation-specific.
• Monitor changing or concerning skin lesions.
• Keep separate from PT-141 or MT-II.

Practical tips

• Start low and watch pigment changes closely
• Use sunscreen and skin surveillance anyway
• If nausea is strong, reduce dose or move later
