U-100 Syringe Units

Most peptides are drawn with U-100 insulin syringes. "Units" here are volume gradations, not International Units (IU).

The one rule

1 mL = 100 units. So 0.5 mL = 50 units and 0.1 mL = 10 units. A 30-unit syringe holds 0.3 mL; a 100-unit syringe holds 1.0 mL.

Converting a dose

Units to pull = (dose / concentration) x 100. Example: a 250 mcg dose from a 5 mg/mL solution = 0.05 mL = 5 units. The calculator does this for you and warns if the draw exceeds your syringe.

Why "units" not "IU"

International Units (IU) measure biological potency for drugs like HGH or hCG. Insulin-syringe "units" measure volume. This reference uses "units" for syringe gradations to avoid that confusion.
