Reconstitution Basics
Reconstitution means turning a freeze-dried (lyophilized) peptide powder into a measured liquid you can draw accurately.
The general steps
- Swab the vial top and the water vial with alcohol.
- Draw your chosen amount of bacteriostatic water.
- Inject the water slowly down the inside wall of the vial - do not blast the powder.
- Let it dissolve; swirl gently. Do not shake.
- Rest a few minutes until fully clear, then refrigerate (typically 2-8 C).
Concentration math
Concentration = total peptide / water volume. Example: 10 mg in 2 mL = 5 mg/mL. The more water you add, the lower the concentration and the larger the syringe draw for the same dose.
Some peptides need a specific diluent. For example, AOD-9604 is commonly reconstituted with a sterile acidic diluent rather than plain bacteriostatic water, and IGF-1 LR3 is mixed at a low concentration. Always follow product-specific instructions.
Turn it into a draw
Once mixed, use the calculator to convert your dose into exact U-100 syringe units.
